Access for All

Newton Town and Great Western Railway Museum rooms are all on one level – ideal for wheels. Occasional exhibitions upstairs can be accessed by stair lift. Our volunteer staff includes one person able to convey the message through British Signing – but he needs to have a date fixed in his diary. We don’t mind if you need to feel to see our exhibits – the carved wood is hundreds of years old – it will survive a bit more handling. St. Leonard’s Tower is a different kettle of fish. There is very little space at the bottom of the Tower, the staircase is steep and winding up to another small space. We expect you know your own limitations!
