The Sandford Orleigh Gallery

house

The Sandford Orleigh Gallery in Newton Abbot Town & Great Western Museum is now home to the magnificent carved overmantle (fireplace surround) from George Templer’s house.

The museum is free come and see it for yourself!

The overmantle was donated to the Museum in 2008 by Messrs. Scott-Morgan and it includes ornately carved Renaissance panels which date from 1522-38.
